Nav 4.0,SP3 running on Server 2003 64 Bit

Will the Navision ver. 4.0 / SP3 DATABASE SERVER run on a Server 2003 64 bit environment? I have some IT people that are looking at upgrading new servers and want to move Nav from the current Server 2000 box to this new box.

Any advice or "gotcha's" to look out for would be appreciated.

THANKS!!

It works, but NAV doesn't take advantage of the 64-bit.
In reality : 32-bit applications are somewhat slower on 64-bit than on 32-bit (not that the NAV DB server needs that much CPU, but a NAS might need it). Anyway, I would not consider this an issue for NAV.

In case you have some 32-bit DLL's for automation (Ex. used by a NAS), you need to put them in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 subdir and not the C:\Windows\system32 subdir.

BTW: you better upgrade to 5.0SP1 or later because support for 4.0SP3 and 5.0 stops is close to be stopped.
BTW2: i am running a 4.0SP3 (with some hotfix for Vista) on my portable that is windows 2008 64 bit and even that works well.

Not really on topic, but http://mibuso.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=38040&hilit=25143&start=15 has some info about running on windows7 and 64bit

And because I love the page http://lmsmfy.com/?q=64bit
Don't just take my word for it, test it yourself
