It is possible to have a text field like a filter field with '1*..2*' and have a setfilter like Record.SETFILTER("No.",FilterText)?

That would be a pretty straightforward thing to try go ahead and try, see if that'll work

What i want to do is like:
IF Rec."No." IN [ '1*..2*'] THEN

No, you cannot do it in this way, it was already discussed and could be found on the forum.

Main idea is to insert the value into temp table, set filter, and look if the record is within the filter or not... ;-)

And, of course, for your example the result will be same like

IF Rec."No."[1] IN [ '1','2'] THEN
