No Service Tier service after installation

I have uninstalled and reinstalled all necessary components of NAV 2009 SP1 on my server machine; I don't get any errors or warnings, but I don't have a Service Tier service after the installation process has finished.
Does anybody have an idea? I have sufficient admin rights etc.
PS: While uninstalling, I have used the DeleteService script that comes with the set of files that belong to the MultipleServiceTier installation scripts. Can that do any harm?
