The transformation will involve creating some new form - redesigned original matrix form.A codeunit is specially availaible in the application "Codeunit 9200 Matrix Management".You can refer this link or C/SIDE Reference guide:

What I am really looking for is what is the best way to create matrix-like page without creating form and then transforming it to a page.
It would be great to hear from those who already did that kind of things.
I have not been involved in the Matrix Form/Page project, but I have made a blog on how to create a Matrix Report. I know that is not what you are asking, but maybe this could help you, and maybe you could create this a report instead of a page?
