AD is required for NAS

Version : NAV2009 SP1

Requirement : Use job scheduler for master data import (XML file) automatically at specific time

Question : Active directory (AD) is required if NAS (job scheduler) is used?

If yes, how can I do the automation in NAV if we won't run AD?

    AD is not required.
In windows login screen just type the user instead of looking up into AD.

You might be able to use a local user account instead of an AD account.

To do this, NAS and SQL will have to be running on the same server. Create a local user account (in computer management on the local server), give the user the necessary permissions in SQL, then set the NAS service to run as that local user.

Thanks for reply, now I clear that AD is not a must for NAS. Here more enquiries want to clarify : -

    Background :
    1. SQL and Critix server are separated, and both are NOT running AD
    2. NAV client is installed at Critix server only for remote user use
    3. XML files are stored at Critix server local shared drive for job scheduler importation

    Question :
    1. Where I should install the NAS service (SQL server or Critix server) for my case?
    2. Do I need to install NAV client at SQL server?
    3. Where can I find the NAS installation and setup manual?

    Thanks!!!!
