Multiple UOM in Warehouse entry

Hi Experts,

Need you guidence on below-

I am trying to do negative adjustment using Whse Inventory Journals.

Location is Marked as directed put away and pick.

Item Base UOM is EACH , PUT away UOM is PAIR

I have Bin contents of qty 1 UOM PAIR and ILE 2 with UOM EACH

Everything looks perfect here...But when i try to do the negative adjustment , selecting item defaults EACH in the UOM in whse jnl line.

I change this to PAIR and put the quantity

When i try to register ,system pops up an error

"You cannot change UOM because this item jnl line is created using warehouse entries. Location X is setup with directed put away and pick and therefore changes must be made in the WhseItem Jnl"

But i am doing that in Whse Item joutnal and Warehouse entry with PAIR also exists ](*,)

Any idea why this is ?
