Journal customization

Hi,

I have created a field in the Gen.Journal line table in the name of Branch code and Contract No
I used the General Journal form and customized according to the requirement.
In the customized General Journal form i have created three variables and they are
1) OptActivity option
2) Branches code code Lookup is provided and it is linked to the branch table
3) Posting Date Date

In the General Journal form, i have included the Contract No(lookup)and Branch code field from the table.

(ie)When the user chooses the OptActivity as A and Branches code as Chennai,according to that Contract No is filtered and its working fine.The Branch code in the Gen.Journal line table is stored as Chennai.
But when the user changes the Branch code as Gujarat, the value of the branch code in the Gen Line table remains the same as chennai.

Due to this, the lines get posted along with the wrong branch. I have attached the screenshot along with this.Any solutions???????

why don't you want the user to modify the field on the line instead of going to the top to modify.

That's more data entry.
