ncp_catalog table

I'm trying to setup Commerce Portal. System seems to work: I can register, I can login, I can logout, etc. But for some reason I don't see the products on the site... which is quite crucial. I have read the documentation, checked almost everything, and 1 thing I found is that I don't have the ncp_catalog table in the SQL. After some investigation, it turned out that no items have been synchronised. The instructions end up in the errormq, with the message that the Item records exceed the max row length in SQL. Any idea of what can be wrong?
