Hi Experts,
I am new to the world of navision and want to go on to learn Functional side of Navision.
So to begin with i have created a new company with a blank Db.And then tried to raised a PO and SO. While doing that i got different messages which specified what setup is missing for eg.Setting up different Posting Groups.I did all the reuired setups and was successful in posting the PO and SO.
My query to all u experts is can anyone help me with the steps tht i need to follow while creating a setup for a new company. As i have done some set to successfull raise PO and SO. What should be the next step so tht i have not missed out any setup.

Thanks. :P

Great stuff. This really is the way to learn Navision.

What you need to do is have two Navision database open, your test one and a cronus one. each time you get an error, go into Cronus and see what setup is used there. Note that the Cronus setup is not ideal for a real company, but it is perfect form training.

If you get a specific error message in posting that you can not resolve (after really trying hard to solve it yourself), then post the specific question on the forum.

In no tie you will understand Navision and be ready for a serious career.

If you would do this in the same database the Setup Checklist can be of great use to you too.

Here you can find the Setup Checklist: Administration > Application Setup > General > Setup Checklist

If you've opened the window click on Help and consult the online help for more information.

    Good luck

Thanks a ton for appreciating me David you made my day but letting me know tht i am on right track.

And thanks a ton lvanvugt for yr reply.

I did went on to c whats there in setup checklist but it has a list of setup whc a functional guy should do.

but i am learning from error or warning messages. So after successfully doing setup for SO and Po can anyone tell me wat do i try to do next so tht i get some more error and try to solve thm so tht i can learn for there.

by going through setup checklist i will try to copy setup from cronus DB to my test DB just coz its there i cronus DB i might also try to do the same.Whc i dont want to.And learn form my mistakes like i did in PO and SO.

    Thanks :D
