Reserve in Transfer Order

When calling on function/Reserve on Transfer Order. The window ask for Outbound or Inbound.
When would reservation by Inbound be used?
Eg transfer stock from location A to B for say sales order S01 which is at location B.
Presumably you would reserve outbound on the transfer order, preventing others from taking the stock at location A.
What should be done, so that when the transfer is received into location B it will be reserved for order S01.
