fin.exe crash with Outlook sync

ullerdkullerdk Member Posts: 16
My Dynamics NAV client application crashes when trying to use the Outlook sync feature.
This is the setup:
Client OS: Windows Vista SP2 32-bit
Client Dynamics NAV: 5.0 SP1
Server OS: Windows 2003 R2
Server Dynamics NAV: 5.0
Dynamics object version: 3.70

As soon as I enable the sales person for Outlook sync and Dynamics NAV then asks for the calender folder, contact persons folder and the tasks folder in the Outlook mailbox, the fin.exe application crashes.

Does anybody have a clue to what could be wrong?

I ran into the same problem today.

I re-registered NatHash.dll, and was then able to select the Contacts, Tasks and Calendar (it still crashed after selecting the Calendar, so the problem isn't completely solved, but when I restarted Nav it had retained the value in the Calendar field).

I opened a command prompt, and went to the Nav client directory
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Business Solutions - Navision\Client

    Then ran the following command:
    regsvr32 nathash.dll

    or equivalently
    C:\Windows\system32\regsvr32 nathash.dll

To be on the safe side, in Navision, I went to Tools - Custom Controls - Control - Browse, and selected nathash.dll (it doesn't show up in the list of Custom Controls, but it can still be registered here. I got a confirmation message:
Information about the OLE control was successfully added to the system registry.
