Hi all,

I've just installed SQL server 2008 and NAV 4.0 SP2 in my laptop which is using Windows Vista (i know..i tried to switch to another version, but failed)

anyway, the question is, are those 3 compatible with each other?
i read some of threads said SQL server 2008 and NAV 4.0 SP2 are compatible.
Is the problem with my Vista?

when i tried to create new database using SQL server database option, i got message saying :

"The SQL server ODBC driver on your computer is not a recent enough version.

Before the driver can be used by Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision,you must upgrade it, along with the network libraries and supporting files, to version 2000.85.1022 or later.
....."

as attached.

anyone can help me with this?
totally novice here.

Thanks before.

The big problem here is that you need 4.0SP3 hotfix 1 (or later) to run on Vista/Windows 2008/Windows 7. (or use the XP-mode on Windows 7).

Just try to run 4.0SP2 fin.exe on Vista and you already have errors.

I recommend NAV 4.00SP3 when using SQL 2005/2008, and if you use the update 1, you will have compatible version with Windows Vista and 7.

It means - NAV 4.0SP2 is not fully compatible with SQL 2005/2008 and not compatible with Vista and 7 at all...
