RanaRana Member Posts: 123
Hi all,

I am doing upgradation from NAV 4.0 SP3 to NAV 2009 SP1. I have done object upgradation (manually)to NAV 2009 SP1. Now I want data-upgradation for that I am using UpgradeToolKit from NAV 2009 product CD.
I want to know will it create any problem as the objects are in NAV 2009 SP1 and I do doing data upgradation to NAV 2009.
Or I have to redo the the object upgradation to NAV 2009?
Please share your knowledge.

Thanks with regards,
RANA

    Read the upgrade manuals.

You are doing it wrong. There are other tools for this.

What does the documentation of the upgrade toolkit say?

If you are not sure then download both and read the manuals. The upgrade steps are usualy wel documented.

Sorry to not provide you with a direct answer but I just think it is better that people find out themselves.

On NAV 2009 SP1 cd you'll find UpgradeToolKit folder with the objects to upgrade the data.

    Thanks rashed for your reply...

I am doing data upgradation with the Upgradation Toolkit from NAV2009SP1 Product CD.

What I have done so far
    1.Upgrade the object of older version(NAV 4.0 SP3) to NAV2009SP1 .
    2.In a fresh PC I have installed NAV2009
3.Create a Database double size of older custom db in NAV2009
4.Restore the older version in NAV2009 database.
    5.Import the Upgrade4002009.1.fob
    6.run form 104045
7.Then transfer data and delete object except tables
8.Now importing the all object of custom NAV2009SP1(in SL. No 1)

But after deleting the object from form 104001 when I try to import the Al lObjects(in text format) I face an error " Your program license does not permit to delete the Ourlook Task Folder Path field in the Salesperson/Purchasere table. Contact your Syatem Administrator to update your program license"

The field was in the older version(base field) which is not present in the current version.

as the field is base field i can't delete it and thats ok , but where I am wrong.

    Please share your knowledge. [-o<

Now when I going to test the database I get an error
"There are errors in the text conversion(text no 1969-0 does not exist in the .stx file). Internal error:47-1"

    how to rectify this? :?:

    Pls share ur knowledge.............

    Hi,

the 1969 error is for the definition of the Client Add-in Table.
Do you have all your language packs loaded for your new 2009SP1 client?

Otherwise, copy the fin.stx to your client folder from the DVD.
