can't send note

Hi... we used to have something like the Notifications customized in 5.0
Now we are starting to use '09 and I want to use the Notifications.

My problem is that when I create a Note, the "To" field is always disabled. I can't find anything on the web or the help file...

    are there mapped users in your database?how many?
    my guess is that you don't have any user in your tools->security->windows login (and/or database login, i think)...so, there's no one to whom you can send a notificaiton

    Hi Belias, thank you for the reply.

    We do have several (Windows) users who are using the system. I see entries in the windows login table. There are also entries in the new User Personalization table.

    I believe the Notifications are a System Part so I can't go look at the code like I normally would...

    The problem had to do with being on a domain.
    Our company didn't have a domain, so we had a workaround for accessing the database. But it meant that the "To" field on the Notifications was disabled.
    Solution: get a domain...
