Hi,
Here is the following scenario:
Reporting services looks great on Navision. Howerver, I create a new layout, and move the textfields to fit on an invoice. The invoice uses the company information table. i save the report and the compiled layout. After i remember that on the company information table i need to add a new column e.g TIC No. How can i update the report dataset without deleting the existing layout and creating a new one. At the time of the layout generation a dataset with the company information is created.
thank

With the Report Designer active you select "Edit / Layout". But it sounds like your new to our new reports in NAV 2009 so maybe it would be and idea to have look at the training material available here:http://blogs.msdn.com/nav/archive/2009/07/03/report-design-in-microsoft-dynamics-nav-2009.aspx

I'm also offering RDLC Report Training, ping me if you are interested. Thanks to the 700 NAV developers that have now already been at my training. You know you can always call if you have any RDLC report issues :-)0 -
Thanks for the manual. yes the training has in depth examples explaining most of the cases in reporting services.
The data set i mentioned before is automatically updated when adding new varaibles.
as usuall it is always better to do create a report from scratch.
thanks
