hi!
can you search for a Serial No (or Tracking No) when you don't know the Item No?
At invoicing (or ordering) stage, our client would like to search by the serial no, instead of first selecting the Item number then the serial number.
ideally they would scan the serial number & the item is automatically found.
any ideas?!?
thanks
Dave

It'll need quite some work I think.

Wow I can't believe I didn't notice that. Not that I use serial nos much, but that's a great improvement. Thanks Alex. BTW it's also in W1.
At this rate Serial numbers may one day be usable in Navision
i've opened a Cronus database in ver 5, went to FM - Receivables - Invoices, but cannot see how i can enter the serial number instead of having to first enter the Item No, then the Item tracking Lines.
could you tell me what i'm missing?
thanks

You'll need to develop it...
Go to posted any purchase or sale doc and click on navigate , see the last tab on top.
No, you don't need to develop it. It's there out of the box.
One of the way to get to the Navigate screen is by clicking on:
Sales & Marketing --> History --> Navigate
This screen is also available in the History folder in all other modules.

But my problem is when you're entering a new invoice/order & the user knows the Serial No of the item but not the Item no. Can the user just enter the Serial No of a product instead of having to first find the Item no?
