Error while taking backup in Native DB

Hi all,
We are using the native DB size of 5 GB. While we taking the backup we got the error says that "Other concurrent activities have reused the available space in the database". But we have DB used size as 3 GB only. And also it says that to sort out this, do the Expanding the DB, Optimizing the DB, Deleting unnecessary data, Date compressing older - non current activities. We have tried that, but doing that also we got the same error.
This error happens while taking backup in Item table only. While trying to delete or viewing some range of items in the Item table also we got same error.
Kindly guide us to sort out this.
