Hello Experts,
I am working with one client and they have requirement to integrate their Payment gateway namely, "First Data Global gateway API". Now they want to integrate it with NAV 2009.
Can you please suggest me something on how to go ahead with this project, I mean to predict project Time line, finding estimation points etc ?
Any one having experience of the simmilar integration please share your views.

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the integration.
Are you trying to build a website that integrates with Nav and is able to make payments against the First Data API? If so, do the integration with the First Data API on the website and use web services to post the appropriate items against the ledger.
Are you trying to run batches that can make charges against credit cards using the First Data API? If so, then you'll need to create an automation variable that calls the First Data APIs to handle the payment processing. I posted a blog entry with sample code on creating an automation object here: http://adventuresindotnet.blogspot.com/ ... bject.html
You'll need to look at the customer's requirements, find out what they want to do, determine what parts of Nav you want to integrate with, design a solution, develop the solution, and test it with the customer. As for predicting the project time line and estimates, I would recommend getting a good book on the subject - it's way too broad of a subject to address in a single post in a message forum. Estimating projects is an art, and it's really hard, and it takes a long time to learn how to estimate well.

Hi Tim,
Thanks a lot for the reply. I really appriciate your efforts to make the things clear. =D>
Yes, I agree with you that we need to understand the requirements before giving timeline and project cost. I wanted to understand the basic how this Payment gateway with Payment Gateway API would work and how it can be integrated with NAV? ](*,)
Please advice on the same.

It is great that you want to integrate your payment gateway first data global gateway API with NAV 2009. But I am not aware of this NAV 2009 configuration. I am using currently www.merchantinc.com for online payment which is secure and best service provider to the credit card holders.0
