Costing in Item Journal

Dear All,

It is known to everyone that using Item Tracking, Bom journal cannot be used.

Scenario : Client not using Manufacturing Module.
Navision 2009 SP1 is used

Issue : I have to track thye items using Item tracking, raw materials must be converted to finished goods

Work around solution done by me: I used Item journal to convert the raw materials to finished goods.
Also we can use Item tracking.

Now I have 2 doubts

1. Somebody pls tell me whether my solution is correct or not?
2. If correct, then can anybody help how the costing of finished goods can be mapped by this solution?

Is the assumption that BOM won't handle item tracing for consumption still valid, seems to work well enough for kitting.

Kitting is not available with Indian version.
Costing is supposed to be messy with Item Journal.... You need to implement manufacturing module.
