making a call from a contact card

We are looking into using Navision to make calls direct from contact, vendor cards. We have spoken to our re seller who has informed us that we would need granule 5160, and we have spoken to BT who tell me I need a Middleware software package to connect our Nortel BCM50 telephone system to our Navision package. The package BT offer sounds very good and allows all sorts of popups to be used but is very expensive, we only want to be able to press the telephone icon on the contact card and dial the number. Does anyone have any ideas on how we do this.

    Hi Alan
Didn't try yet, but according to my knowledge it should be no problem.

    Preconditions:
    - Your computer is connected to your telephone
    - You have a TAPI driver from your telephone supplier

You can do a first test with this:
    - Start dialer.exe from C:\program files\Windows NT
    - Enter a valid phone number and look what happens
    - If it works you can try with Navision

    Hope this helps

    Thanks Thomas

There has not been a great response to my post, maybe people aren't using the facility within Navision!
We are a little reluctant to spend the money on the required granule until we are sure what else could be required.

What do you mean by trying Skype? Can we use our navision data base as for making the calls.
