NAV 2009 on 3 Tier

Hi Experts.
I have couple of clarifications required on NAV 2009 on 3 Tier on 3 different macs.

I have a SQL database server running for NAV 5.0. I wanted to setup the environment for NAV2009. I would like to have this achieved by using 3 different machines. One for Database server , One for Dynamics Server and One for RTC.

1. Can I use same SQL databse Server used for NAV 5.0( but i still want to continue using 5.0 DBs). Is there any other Database components to be installed ?
2. Having this setup can I access the application over internet ?(by installing a thin client or something like that?)

I blve i dont need to install any other additional components on the DB server for nav2009

I setup three tiers on all new (virtualized) servers.
