I'm wondering if there's a routing solution building within NAV to help create the most optimal route for drivers? I've searched several solutions, like road wizard and profit vehicle planner, but not sure how they can work with NAV...
Sorry I didn't make it clear enough... The routing solution I'm talking about is the one for distribution industry when delivering orders to customers in different locations...
I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but SimCrest has a solution for Route Planning.
Here is from the website:
Fully-integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SimCrest Route Planner is a smart and easy-to-use tool designed to help warehouse managers optimize daily route-planning processes and determine the best route for each truck. Route Planner enables you to improve customer satisfaction, increase delivery efficiency, and save transportation costs.
We have used it many times to help win deals, so feel free to watch the video demos and fact sheets.
Definitely take a look at the SimCrest offering here. Being able to work with them in case you need an existing customer install reference sometimes can be the key to driving a project offering across the finish line.
Working one up yourself is, of course, possible - just make sure to estimate your hours and compare that to the "Route Planner" cost they offer.
Not currently a SimCrest reseller nor have I worked for them, but I've used their solutions in the past.
