Lot Specific Tracking

Hi,

One of my customers currently uses Item tracking but non- LN Specific tracking, with FIFO costing, now wishes to make the switch for those items, to Lot Specific tracking.

I know that it is not possible to activate the Specific option on the Item Tracking Code card, once posts exists for one of the underlying items.
I guess that probably my only option will be to create new items with the new, specific tracking code. But that option has been rejected by the customer.

Is it an option to modify the LOT Specific tracking option via code, What problems will i be facing then??

Is there another option that i have overlooked?

U cannot Lot specific Tracking and Lot Info exists for Inbound entries and Lot tracking by warehouse. But if checking rest of the Inventory entry types system can ensure that u Lot No. will be mandatory for Inventory Transaction.

If ur customer does not intend to change costing method and is not using Warehousing then this change shud work.
