Decimal Places

I hope someone can help with this one ...
On a new install (NAV 2009 classic), a client wanted everything to 4 decimal places. In GL setup, we set amount rounding precision to 0.0001 and amount decimal places to 2:4.
They've since gone live but then decided they want postings back to 2 decimal places with just costs, prices, etc to 4. As far as I understand, NAV does this by default as the unit-amount rounding precision is set to 0.00001 and unit-amount decimal places is set to 2:5, then when transactions are posted, they are rounded to the settings for amount (0.01 and 2:2 by default).
I can change the amount decimal places back to 2:2 to only show them 2 decimal places but this causes all sorts of rounding issues. I can't change the amount rounding precision as they already have postings.
Has anyone had a similar issue before? Any solutions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated
