SQL Server 2000 to SQL 2008 for NAV 4

Hi,

We are running on Nav MY 4.0 SP1 with SQL Server 2000 database.

Now we plan to upgrade SQL Server to SQL 2008 version. I understand that NAV SP3 can support SQL 2008.

My question is how to upgrade the database from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008?

For client, I just need to install Nav 4 Sp3 client in all PCs right?

Please advise.

For db, you make a Nav backup with 4.0 sp1. On sql 2008 you create a new db with 4.0 sp3 exe. Restore the nav 4.0 sp1 backup into the new database.

Make sure when you create the db in 4.0 sp3 on sql 2008 to set the security mode to standard. This is on the Option (last) tab when creating a new db.
