New Database - Default File Path

I have a server that has a lil mirror'd pair for the OS and programs (C:), then a separate set of disks for data (E:).
On the SQL 2008 side, I have the server's Database Properties "Default Locations" for the Data and the Logs as simply "E:\SQL\". Any new database I create with SQL pays attention to those defaults.
But not NAV. I do a File -> Database -> New, punch in a database Name, and end up with:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\WhereAreTheseDefaultsComingFrom_Data.mdf"
Is NAV's finsql.exe really hard-coded to use the C:\ path, even though it correctly detects the SQL installation path? This occurs in both 5.0 and 2009 (.0 and SP1). Anyone know a way to make it use a different default?

I've noticed that before too, and figured it must not pick up that setting. There's no setting for the default path in NAV, so I don't think there's a way to make that work. All the more reason to pay extra attention to where the files for new databases are located0

With NAV2009 I noticed that too and I reported it as a bug to MS. They responded it was not a bug because other versions had the same problem. So it was not solved.Regards,Alain Krikilion
