Can we do this in NAV?

I want to maintain different prices for same item for same customer for different departments (global dimension one)

For what you are suggesting by dimension is not a standard feature.

You would have to get the dimension added to the sales price functionality for a comprehensive solution.

Additionaly you could manipulate a current field to work with what you need.

My sugestion would be to use the unit of measure EG PACK Sales, PACK ADMIN, PACK DEPT 1 , PACK DEPT 2 etc.

This would require the entry people to change the UOM on the line however but would work.

The other way would be to use Customer price groups where the price group represents the department dimension you wish to specifiy and Dept is represented under PRice group

I think the modification to do it based on Price Group would be easier. Automatically change the Price Group on the order when the dimensions are validated. Much better than weeding through that BestPrice code
