Printing EAN13

I get no problem in generating EAN13 correct codes.
I don't know how to print them; in our system Code39 fonts is installed and is correctly working: if I put in a report a No. of an item, f.e., and in the report I set the Code39 font, our scanreader work correctly.
But, if I print an EAN13 with Code39, it is read as a Code39, not as an EAN13...
