Registering a .NET Component

Hi
I followed the instructions in
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20740
and it is working like a charm.
However 3 question for better understanding, slightly off topic:
1) Why does NAS need the dll in its program directory (it does not work without, as described in the link above)?
2) What exactly stands the tlb parameter in the regasm command for? When I read its help, I understand that a tlb is created then, but this file is already delivered from Microsoft, why create it again?
3) Is the tlb used for the COM interface in Navision to "see" the .NET DLL as it would "see" a COM DLL? If not, what it it used for?
