    Hi have NAV 5, 5SP1, 2009 and 2009 SP1 on my laptop.

I installed 2009SP1 so all registry entries etc point to that one. Then i just copied the appropriate folders fromt he product CD's and set up shortcuts.

You should copy 2009 to separate folder, then uninstall 2009 and then install 2009sp1

Not sure why you want to have 2009 and 2009SP1 on the same machine. It's possible to install 2009SP1 first followed by 5.0.

When you have clients with both platforms you need both installed for development, testing and support.

I would get all the clients that are on 2009 to do exe upgrade to 2009 sp1.

    I totally agree.

I was just answering the question, since you can't upgrade every client in one day there will be time when you need to support both.

How does that solve anything? First of all it's not realistic to think all 2009 customers will just do a technical upgrade because we don't want to have multiple versions on our laptops. Second, until they actually ARE on NAV2009 SP1, you would have to have plain 2009 installed.

Consultants/developers must have the customer's version available and working on their laptops in order to support them.

I agree that solution centers need all the version installed, or at least be able to run them somehow.

You can run the classic client fine, but once classic client is gone, we would need to have multiple version installed.

I guess in the mean time you could use separate virtual environment.
