With XP, with the import pictures wizard, you could handselect which pictures to import from a memory stick, you could individually rotate the pics before they came over, and you could create the file names yourself. With Vista, it seems like this process has dumbed down to where you almost have no control over what get's imported, it's all or nothing.
Does anyone know of a program or tool that I could use to transfer pictures from a memory stick to my picture library, with full control over which pictures, rotation, file names? It should be smart enough to keep all the tags (date taken, shutter speed, aperture, things like that) that the camera puts on the file. It would also be nice to have a tool with which I could rename files in batches.

2) You can set how it would name the pictures
3) If your camera save camera orientation into the picture, they will be rotated automatically when selected
4) All tags will remain.
If you want, my friends are using http://www.zoner.com/ww-en/ at most (because it is Czech product :-)) but it is really good software, mainly with support of RAW etc.

The import wizard in Vista does not work for me. I just want a simple tool, just like the picture import wizard in XP.
THanks I'll check that out
