Common Location

Hi All,

Our client does the job as well as service jobs. The following is the example—C is a customer to whom our client (A) does the job work. In such a type of work innumerable customers are involved for which locations cannot be maintained for each customer. What our client does is – they use to send the materials to a sub-contractor location (L) (SAY A COMMON LOCATION) from where the materials (required for job work) are send to customer site (or job site).

Often client wants their vendor to directly ship their materials to the sub-contractor location (where job work is going on). I.e. on customer site instead of taking the materials from vendor to their main stock.

Please note that our client do not have the Sub-Contracting module.
How can the above be mapped in NAV 2009 SP1?

If the customer is the regular customer then better to create the differenct customer Locations.

If you dont wantto create the locations then Use lot Number for that items what u receive from customer .

just assign the lot number same as customer number.

based on this u can track easily.

    2. Assign the Dimension code = Customer and assign the dimensions values as customers . just assign this to receipt and Issue to subcontractor.
