mergetool.com merging Algorithm

I recently googled for diff and patch, the well known unix algorithms for making patchese of source code. This algorithmen seems very powerful and maybe useful for merging nav objects.
I wonder which algorithmen the mergetool.com uses ? As it is fully implemented in NAV i can't imagine that it uses a Unix Algorithm.
Does anyone know how it performs the merge? Is anyone disappointed or has problems with it's functionality (of merging) ?

in his http://mergetool.com/How%20to%20use%20t ... getool.zip Video Tutorial the autor says that he has to merge 97 of 112 objects by himself.
that seems sort of a lot - so is there any "automatic merging" mechanism behind the mergetool.com mergetool ?
