Hi,

I creatd a System DNS with C/ODBC in order to connect ro our NAV 3.70 native DB.
MS Query and Excel shows, that the Setup is ok.

Now I would like to add this DNS to a SQL 2005 Server as a linked Server,
but I could not get it right. ](*,)

Any Suggestions which Information to put in the Setup?

cheers,

Chris

Why not migrate the NAV db to SQL?

    Hi,

A Migration is one way to do it,
but we will setup NAV 2009.

Therefore I am looking for the best way to ge Customers, Vendors, etc
    in our New system.
With a Linked Server i have a lot of more possibilities than with dataports.

Maybe there are other ways, but this will time show.

    greetings,

    Hi,

Its been a very very long time ago that I had experience with 3.7 on a native db, but I seem to recall that create a linked table in MS Access to Nav.
Get that to work first, and you should be able to use SQL linked server to the Access db.

It sounds a bit of a long way of getting a result, but I might work.

I saw this today at http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/Microsoft-Access/Configuring-a-Linked-Microsoft-Access-Server-on-SQL-2005-Server/
that will help with linking to Acess db in SQL.
