Microsoft Dynamics NAV W1 2009 SP1
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 builds on all the innovations that were introduced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, and adds new functionality that can provide significant productivity improvements for customers and partners, as well as delivering enhancements and optimizations that reaffirm Microsoft Dynamics’ ongoing commitment to product quality.

The initial release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 in December 2008 marked a major milestone in the products evolution, introducing significant user experience and technology breakthroughs while remaining true to its core values of simplicity, end-to-end functionality, ease of maintenance and use, adaptability, and international scope.

* Customers will see improvements in user experience, reporting and overall business productivity, and the value of their BREP investments will be enhanced with the incorporation of Microsoft Dynamics Online Connect directly in Role Centers.
* Partners will benefit from an improved developer experience and new opportunities for enabling differentiation and competitive advantage through Client Extensibility.

This service pack release represents an important driver of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV business moving forward, and an opportunity to further increase Microsoft Dynamics NAV adoption and momentum in the market.

The upgrade toolkit is included in the SP1 release.

First little nugget of happiness: An actual warning / error list of problems when you compile multiple objects from object designer. =D>

It's the little things in life that make you happiest :D

what are the actual upgrade steps to go to 2009 SP1? or where would I find the documentation for it. The SP1 disk contains a folder called UpgradeToolkit, but appears to only address upgrading from 3.70, 4 or 5...

    any help is appreciated!!

Same question, how can we upgrade from nav 2009 to nav 2009 SP1.

We are trying to find a document explaining it.....

DO the executable upgrade. (uninstall old client) Install the new client.
Export all the objects from sp1 and merge anything you have modified and then import the fob.

Is possible to make only the executable upgrade?

We want to try SP1 without expend time merging objects.

    Thanks for answer. : )

Thanks for the replies. You'd think there'd be some kind of documentation out there...you'd think.... ](*,)

The executable upgrade includes upgrading the database? That's what the classic client asks to do when run against the pre-SP1 database.

you would need to also get the latest xp_ndo.dll file as well.
Also compiling all the object would be also recommended.

    Thanks ara3n!

    Desinstall Nav 2009
    Install Nav 2009 SP1

Open a Database of Nav 2009, system ask for convert de database, we do. Notice: if you convert the database, then you can´t open it with Nav 2009.

Don´t merge objtects, continue using Nav2009 objects.

Errors appears at starting with RTC client ( Solved: compile page objects)

Try new functions of RTC. A list is provided in the launch portal. Works Ok.

Now we are searching documentation or oppinions about what´s new in NAV 2009 SP1 functionality (spanish version). We want this documentation to decide if we merge objects or if we work with the objects of Nav 2009 and client of nav 2009 sp1. We have a lot of customization in objects of Nav2009 so it´s important decision.
