Are you upgrading? Then you need to follow the guidelines in the upgrade toolkit.
If you actually need to create a dataport and are getting an error we'll need to know what the error is. Make sure you save in the 50,000 range and in an object range that your license can read.

the dataport i have created doesnt export the data. i will give u a senario
i m importing the data of vendor list so i had make dataport named "Export vendor" with id "50001" now when i run and
export data in "vendor.csv" or "vendor.txt" there are not any data exported to those. there is no error message but only black sheet of database in excel.
