Employee Piece Rate tracking during manufacturing process

We have a requirement to track employee piece rate performance during a production run. This is required for a garment manufacturer. Can anyone provide a solution and/or suggestion for NAV 2009.

Is it like this person was supposed to stitch 20 shirts in 1 hour or in a shift but he did 10 or 30, this has to be evaluated ? or if this is not the case can u explain a bit more.

Piece work or piece rate describes types of employment in which a worker is paid a fixed "piece rate" for each unit produced or action performed. In a manufacturing setting, the output of piece work can be measured by the number of physical items (pieces) produced, such as when a garment worker is paid per operational step completed. Example: Applying a zipper to a garment is a operational step and the worker will be paid based on the number of zipper applied in a pay period.

This is more of a payroll scenario, by default u can try using Machine Center (as employee) but as the number of employees working for 1 production order or a lot can be many and not always same so u will have to change it every time on a production order which i believe will turn out to be messy.

So it would be nice if you could check with your solution provider if they can advise u some development or add-on for this.

You are correct this information is used for payroll purposes so we just need the functionality to track the piece rate per employee. We are a solution provider hoping to find a solution before we re-invent the wheel :) Thank you for your time.

We have done a customization for this purpose along with a payroll addon, where the operation when issue to the worker and got returned after completion from the worker is tracked with issue time and return time, which will be done through a barcode scanning. Operation wise rate for the worker will be captured in advance. During the payroll processing time, the operations completed by the workers will be computed and the wages will be paid based on the applicable rates.

The above customization was also done for a garment manufacturer and it is working fine at the client end.
