Journal vs Voucher

Hello,
I am not clear on the difference between Journal and Voucher i.e. Cash Receipt Journals and Cash Receipt Voucher | Payment Journals and Bank/Cash Payment Vouchers. It would be highly appreciated if anyone can throw more light on this.
Also, please clarify on what type of journals/vouchers should be used for accounting daily expenses or petty cash expenses?
