Change of Qty. per Unit of Measure

RanaRana Member Posts: 123
Hi experts,

I have a little confusion and the scenario is :

Item No. Code Qty. per Unit of Measure
LS-120 BOX 12
LS-120 PCS 1

Now there is a BOX which contain 20 PCS.

What should I do in the above situation
A) Create a new CODE or
B)Change the "Qty. per Unit of Measure" from 12 to 20

which is correct? :-k
Please clarify.

Thanks in Advance;

Rgds,
RANA

Will every box from now on have 20 pieces? Or is it just a one time kind of thing?

I wouldn't change the quantity on that unit of measure, especially if there are open orders for the item as I don't think it will update the order unless UOM is revalidated on the line.

Best bet in my opinion is probably to create a new UOM, say BOX20.

if your base uom is 1pc then you shouldn't have any problem selling the item in any qty.

if it's going to be 20 for now on change the sale uom to box20. if you have qty of both the user will have to make the choice at order entry time to select the correct uom.
