Planning Worksheet/Production Forecast

eagle_eyeeagle_eye Member Posts: 130
I have 10 widgets in location BLUE as of 1/1/09 (these widget are made from a BOM which = 1000 pieces of item 10000)

I have a forecast that says I have demand of 100 widgets from location BLUE in 10/1/09

If I do planning for September, I would like te system to suggest that I make 90 widgets (100 i need - 10 I have)

When I run the planning, it suggests I make 100.

Is there something else I need to do to include looking at this existing inventory? Isn't this how the planning works (from what I have read)?

I am planning 10/1/09 ..10/31/09.
Both check boxes are checked.
I have selected the correct forecast.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You would need to tell us how your item is setup

    Fair enough:

The item has SKUs set up per location.

    Replenishment system: Production Order
    Manufacturing Policy: Make to Stock
I have a BOM and Routing set up
    Flushing Method: Manual
Reordering Policy: I have tried them all, but I have Order set up

    That is all.

Is there a particular set-up that needs to be done in order to include the available inventory (by location) in the planning?

Also - when I tried useing Reorder Policy Lot For Lot, I did ensure Include Inventory was checked on both the Item and the SKU card.

Well if it is set to order then it is working as you want it.

Is the production forecast entered by location?

You are selecting your forecast on the planning run?

You have no exclusion dates set on the plan?

You have no filters set on the plan?
