2009 Planning Worksheet

I sell widgets that need 6 months lead time to get in stock to cover any demand.

(There are BOMs, and production orders, etc in this scenarion - this is a simplification)

(These amounts are set up in forecasting)

Jan 2010 I need 100
Feb 2010 I need 10
Mar 2010 I need 30
Apr 2010 I need 40
May 2010 I need 10
Jun 2010 I need 20

It is December 2009. I want to make sure I have 210 in stock to cover the next 6 months demand (I always want to keep 6 forward months in inventory).

So when I am doing planning in July - I would like to have the system check/suggest/plan in the planning worksheet that I buy whatever I need to cover this 6 month future demand.

Can the planning worksheet do this (assuming lead times/parameters are set correctly)

(I hope this makes sense)

Yes for sure but depends on what date filter u give while running the planning. Keep starting date as Jan 2010 and Ending date as Jun 2010 and select correct forecast it will do.
