Import item quantity

Hi,
I am in a data conversion phase.
I have imported items on the item master card.
In navision, i have to go through an item journal to poupulate the quantity field for the item.

Is there a possibility to say that I have quantity = 10 of item A, but in the background, i don't want any entries?

The inventory field is calculated on the fly, by adding the quantity of all the Item Ledger Entries for the Item. Without those entries, this field would not calculate correctly. You must have an entry for inventory, that's the way the application works.

By creating the opening balance you have a fully identifiable auditable reconcilable starting position. It also ensures you have a cost reconciliation moving forward, without this you would never be able to truly reconcile your inventory to the GL.

Why do you not want it?
