Do you know any company that is using job costing for % complete accounting? It would be nice to actually talk to a real user about the module.

Thank you,
Diana

I think almost all Navision solution centers uses the Job module to track the labor spent on a project. You may not have to look further than your solution partner.

Almost every company that uses Project Management based in earn value management uses that kind of job costing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earned_value_management
Projects must be measured based in % of completed.
So I definitely would agree with Alex.

    Thank you for your reply.

Sorry, I was very short in my post. We are a manufacturing company and we would like to know if the job module is suitable for us. We would like to track the progression of a project and also we would like to use the milestone billing to bill our customers. I saw in the demo that we can have many subjobs with BOMs and Routes and we can trace the progress. Is sound everything as we want, but we would like to actualy talk with a customer whow is using it, somebody similar with us: manufacturing, make to order and project environment.

The demo which you might have seen would be of Job Manager which as an Add-on buit on Top of NAV because base product does not give you BOM and Routes in Job, neither you can plan as well using Jobs. If the product is allowing you to plan your inventory against the jobs then it is not default NAV.

U can do milestone billing using Jobs in NAV.

BOM and Routes progression in Manufacturing u can see, but Jobs and Manufacturing are apart from each other in base product.

If that is the case check for customers on this forum who are using the add-on solution for which you have queried. I hope you will get good answers.
