technical upgrade - use web services

hey guys,

we are currently using Nav 4.0 SP3 and now want to integrate the new Web Services from NAV2009.
My question :
Is it possible to use Web Services after an technical Update to 2009?

    I investigated doing this a few months ago and found that NAV 2009 Web Services does not work with just a technical update to 2009. As I recall, one of the problems is that there are new tables used by Web Services.

    I disagree, we have 4 exe upgrades from 4.0 and 5.0 and they are using webservices.

    There is also a blog about it from MS as well.
