how to improve my functional skills

how to develop my functional skills in navision?, why am asking is, for past three i had worked and focused only in technical(not pure technical, but have solved few functional ) aspects of view.... kindly expecting experts advice.... (additional note : now when am trying for new job, job recruiters were expecting functional knowledge as a key as am having 3 years experience... how to improve it... ).... how to get through and how can i prepare for interview in functional aspects....... ](*,) ](*,)

    If u would have asked a functional guy every time "WHY "before starting the code, Why they need it, u wouldn't have been asking this question. Pls don't take it otherwise.

    But to do this u shud have basic business knowledge at least to start with and if possible go through the manuals properly. To use manuals create a new company see what scenario has been given and repeat them but on your own data. As part of learning process if something is confusing u i think anybody who knows about the topic in forum will help u. U know this :)

    But had i been at ur place i would have started studying manuals and from next day of my technical job would have started asking "WHY" from Functional consultant before starting coding. Sit with them when they discuss business scenario with customer, i know it is not possible all the time, but whenever u get the time.

    As far as clearing interview is concerned that is never a big deal, but more important is "How well u carry ur recruitment in ur new role".

    thanks for giving ur valuble time in replying to me..... as you said that was my actual mistake i have done (for not asking "WHY")..... as per your advice am start studying functional manual right from now on wards :thumbsup: ...... and even my friend has adviced me that i cannot surive in IT feild wthout functional knowledge....... thank you once again sir......
