What is the point of Unit of Measure in Kit BOM Header?

When you set a different UOM on the Kit BOM. It doesn't seem to reflect the proper Quantity Per on the Kit Sales Lines.
What is the purpose of setting the different Kit BOM UOM when it doesn't seem to calculate on the sales lines?

It does. Keep Pc as base UOM of ur FG and RM.
Maintain relationship 1Box=10pc for both.
Specify in Kit Bom that 1 Pc (FG) = 1 Box of (RM). Now keep the sales UOM of FG as box. Now create a S.O. of 10 Box. U will get RM on Sales line as 10 Boxes but if u will notice on Item card of RM Qty on Sales line will be 100.
<Edit>
But if i remember Kit BOM does not allow to pick up any other UOM than Base UOM on header.Kapil Khanna0 -

You can use any UOM on the Kit BOM header, as long as the UOM is setup under the Item Unit of Measure on the FG.
The question is why allow you to change the UOM on the Kit BOM when it doesn't get applied like how the Production BOM works?Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Yeah, I know I can set the sales UOM to a different BOM.
The question is shouldn't the change on the Kit BOM UOM function the same way as the Production BOM UOM?Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Code to check that is in Table 99000771

It looks like the enforcement of the base UOM on the Kit BOM is only for version NAV2009 and forward. It allows different unit of measures version 5.0 SP1 and prior.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Oh yeah i did forget to mention i used 2009. Infact i would consider it as a bug in 2009 as this should have been available and working like Production BOM.Kapil Khanna0
