Use of Allow Hi folks,

In general ledger set up there is filed called

Help says : The date in this field determines if and when G/L accounts can be deleted. G/L accounts
with entries on or after the date specified in this field cannot be deleted.


I created a account No = 4011
Allow G/L Acc. Deletion Before in this filed I enter = 02/02/02.

Now I can go that account and delete .
Then what is the use of this account.

This applies to the G/L accounts which are not in use any more for posting since long back and are unnecessarily cluttering the chart of accounts.
The below are the preconditions:

1. The entry dates in this account MUST be prior to the date specified in that field.
2. The account balance MUST be 0.
