I am struggling to see any real benefits of using style sheet tool for Dynamics NAV.
Any ideas of what you have done with it in the past, or what perspective might be useful more than simple NAV reports, would be more than welcommed!
We suggested and implemented it for a client who required the quotes to be exported to word document, so that they could add some manual specific info and send it to customer. Using word automation would have taken longer.
This way they can use the toolkit if down the line they want to change something.

If you can't think of anyway to use it give it a little imagination. There is lots of areas for excel for example. If someone wants to view a list to analyze the data they can export it to excel to do their own calculations instead of copy paste.
Word would handle forms reports etc that need to be amended. For example i export my template to word save it as pdf in MS word and then email it out.
If you look at the toolkit you will see microsoft developers left an option for report but obviousbly never finished doing so.
Yeah, we've used it for things where base NAV reports didn't fit the bill. For example long terms and conditions where things like customer name had to be inserted, similar to a mail merge.
It can also let users "create their own reports" so to speak. If they want / need data in a specific format they don't have to pay the partner / use ITs time to develop a new report.

Could be, but it's not functionality that is only available in NAV 2009.
