Evaluating a NAV License

Hello All,

I wanted to know what is the difference between a production and a development NAV license?

We are having a development license. Now, we have to verify a production license. How do we go about it? Is there any particular process for verifying a license file? We are having the .flf file along with the .txt file containing the list of granules for both the licenses. We compared the .txt files for the development and production licenses, and found out that there are a sizable number of differences between both the files.

Any help on this matter will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kirtan.

Are you a partner or a customer? When you say development license, do you really mean a partner license?

Yes David. We are Microsoft Partner, and we are having the development license provided by them for customizing NAV objects.
    Thanks,

OK, so that's a partner license then. Basically you can not compare it to a normal development or production license as those are limited by what was purchased.

The license will be tested once you start implementing the pilot for the customer and start to design customizations. BEFORE you start any customization you will check with the production license to make sure the granules needed are there and the objet numbers are assigned and available.
