Uanble to refresh the Matrix Form

Hi,
Is it possible to Use the Expand and collapse functionality in Matrix form.
When i am using that functionality in Matrix form i am unable to refresh the form i.e it is expanding but not collapsing until we collapse or expand next item.
Any suggestions please...
